• Passport valid for the whole course (renew early if it expires within 18 months)
• SSC and HSC (or O/A level) certificates and mark sheets; bachelor's certificate and transcript for postgraduate study
• English test result (IELTS Academic, PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT or Duolingo, as the university accepts) or a medium-of-instruction letter where accepted
• Statement of purpose or motivation letter written by you, plus CV
• Two recommendation letters where the programme asks for them
• Sponsor documents: bank statement and solvency certificate, sponsor's income proof, TIN and tax return acknowledgement
• Birth certificate or NID; names and dates must match the passport and certificates

Student visa for Canada

Students need a letter of acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution and, in most cases, a provincial attestation letter before applying for a study permit.

1. Choose a DLI and check PGWP eligibility of the programme.
2. Get the letter of acceptance and, if needed, the attestation letter.
3. Prepare funds (CAD 23,448 plus first-year tuition and travel).
4. Apply online on the IRCC portal; give biometrics at the visa application centre.
5. Complete the medical exam if asked.
